Saltwater Geology With the Sun in my Eyes

As we sailed slowly past the rugged islands that dot the Aegean Sea, we were captivated by the colors of their upturned, twisted, water- and sun-beaten rocks -- nature's breakwater, whose colors constantly shift with the angle of the sun and the temperament of the sea.

This piece was selected for the Art Center of the Bluegrass's 2019 juried exhibit, "Horizon: Contemporary Landscape" -- one of only 21 works selected for the show, from more than 250 submissions from across the country.
